project 6 : DRAWING, MODEL – CONSTRUCT

project 6 : DRAWING, MODEL – CONSTRUCT

For this assignment , we students have to design  terrace houses on our located site at bukit minyak where the residential area was designed in a group of 8 in project 5 . the house that we have to design , should u pick a corner lot house and modify it as the theme is ' designer's house' so here it goes , my journey toward making my designers house .

THE DEVELOPMENT
my concept for the terrace is simple , a box , a box is a basic shape, simple.minimalist .The  term MINIMALISM  is used used to describe a trend in design and architecture where in the subject is reduced to its necessary elements.Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe adopted the motto "Less is moreto describe his aesthetic design. so that was the concept that i want to emphasis on , that having a simpler version of a house would has its own aesthetic value. it is simple and it is never out of trend , until now , we humans use box for various activities , box can be used as shelters , and also something to play with :)

and of course that is not all , the name of the residential area is "SP GARDEN " which revolve around the concept of a residence in a garden , so what if a house that is surrounded by tranquility of greens is just plain and rigid , so i add in a little twist to my design , which is to make my house , also a garden in a house , 'a house in a garden , a garden in a house '

so i incorporated some of futures that  will makes you feel as if you are in a tranquil and peaceful place once you step into the house.such as ,interior pond , sectional trees .

while doing my work , i have to get my work done extra early because i have some commitment outside from usm , a commitment for mt state , but eventually i brought my work with me , and my friends decided to "help" by watching and criticizing me

and just before we were getting ready for final sprint for the completion of our project , Ar Najib add in a sub project , which is to design a space inside our house , so i have choose the living room , the project was made easy for us who went to kl trip where we went to IKEA , and i found an inspiration of my living room .

This very place gave me the inspiration , my living room concept is Modern with dark wood timber flooring and ilumanation of lights from the tv set and also a dual mode sofa :)

and at the end of the day , i have finished my work , and showed up to the exhibition to present it to the lectures :) , of course with the help of  photographer of the day , jason who was kindly enough to help a friend that frgt to bring her camera at this very3 crucial day.behold , my designer house - DENAI

Project 05 : APEX COMMUNITY

DRAWING, MODEL, REPORT – URBAN

so as the brief stated , our project is to design the planning of a residential area , me and my friends , a group of 8 which is alia , hani , uzmana , aida , amalina , lulu , and jean , our concept for the housing area was A RESIDENCE IN A GARDEN

figure above shows the first draft that was found to be a lotttttt of mistakes , so we refine everything to produce :

a residence in a garden to emphasis on the greenery and sustainable living , this is to provide a peace and tranquil space for the residence to breath every air while they are resting in their house .

project 3 ; shelter

my concept for the shelter is simple , a box , a box is a basic shape, simple.Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe adopted the motto "Less is moreto describe his aesthetic design. so that was the concept that i want to emphasis on , that having a simpler version of a house would has its own aesthetic value. but aesthetic is not important in designing this shelter , the utmost important thing is the usage , so i designed this shelter so that i could fit in 3 min size bed + food storage + medical storage + and washing area

project 2 : the chair

It was not easy designing a chair, some say designing a chair have a lot to consider than designing a building. With the help and support of my friends I thought about what elements in this world that would best symbolize connections. At last, I choose BOND. BOND is the name that wa given to my designers chair that symbolizes puzzle , not a piece , but all the pieces that are bounded together to complete an image ,which is the chair , my chair .This chair will be stationed at Kids Adventure Zone, Shang Ri La’s Resort And Spa, Pulau Pinang . Why did I choose puzzle? a puzzle is basically a game, toy, that will always be played by kids or even adults  ,it is sometimes  a problem, that requires cleverness and often persistence in solving or assembling. Playing anything is never fun alone, that is why I choose the puzzle as my concept. Being at the playground, we need relationships and connections with other people. We also need friends because playing games is never fun alone. The puzzle itself symbolizes the connections that the kids should have in order to have fun playing on the playground. The puzzle also symbolizes oneness and unity that the kids will develop by spending time with their friends there, at the adventure zone.

The main idea was to design a chair that can be used by 3 person. I choose the Kids Adventure Land at Shang ri la’s resort and spa and designed a chair that its structure fit the purpose of the place. The chair’s idea is to be in a place where adults can wait for their children while playing at the playground. In my opinion, A chair can be of a good use not only for seating, it can also be multipurpose. That is why my chair has a bookshelf that enables users to read magazines or newspaper while waiting for their loved ones. Not only adults can sit there, children also can, because the chair also provides additional leg-rest. My idea was to make the chair to look attractive as possible to create a center of attention for users to visit the space thus occupying the chair itself. Tougher

The development of design started with coming out with the idea and concept. I researched on the suitable ergonomic data so that my chair would be able to support our body weight making it comfortable even if the users sat there for a long period of time. When the concept is all set , the measurements is ready , I then thought about what color should be used for the chair . My idea was to make the chair attractive and this idea could be done by using vibrant colors.  The colors would also be suitable for the environment as it portrays fun and excitement. The design is then studied by using a study model where proper measurements are taken into accounts. And in the end of the development , I have successfully designed my own chair , BOND .

rus 106 project 1 :)

project one : ideas

we have to design a graphic presentation board that highlights everything in penang , my concept for the board is rainbow that symbolizes diversity and unity . rainbows have different colors , just like the different race and religion in penang , but eventhough it is different , we still unite and become one .
THEPROCESS
Brainstorming ideas !!
i want to take this innovative idea and convert into my project , the vision that a boy is trying to sketch his world on a wall is definitely awesome
so i come out with a basic concept of my board , which is colors + vision

as you can see , my board iis full with colors and on top of that theres a girl trying to sketch the place the seminar is held which is shang ri la rasa sayang resort and spa . the gils ponytail is submerge into the coulrs of the rainbow which symboilizes the diversity of culture in Penang , and that is what i truly want to highlight

project 13 : works in a cd

behold , my digital portfolio

FROM NOTHING TO SOMETHING is something I learned here in HBP USM .Only a few words like that can briefly describe what I’ve been through since September 2011. From alone to having friends , from basic artworks to masterpiece, from knowing nothing to something on architecture and will know so much more years to come and yes I’m really looking forward for it . “Architecture tends to consume everything else, it has become one's entire life”- Arne Jacobsen, and what I hope is to become an architect and fully consume , dissolve my life with architecture. I have the passion , I just need to push myself to achieve my dreams. And everything is possible if u set your mind to it . I will be from nothing to something.
